Landman Hoevelaken is a wholesaler / distributor of animal supplies in the Netherlands and Belgium. Landman supplies exclusively to specialist retailers, or specifically to pet shops.
Landman uses Exact Globe. This package offers a rudimentary ordering portal, which does not offer enough possibilities for the professional appearance that Landman is looking for. In addition, the possibilities to order via a mobile device are lacking, preferably by simply scanning barcodes.
Landman was looking for a platform that complements Exact Globe with e-commerce facilities, and found it in Shoxl.
Interfaces Exact Globe
Exact Globe does not offer a web services layer that can be linked in real time. Customer-specific prices and stock data are therefore not available in real time. Querying this data in real time would also put too much strain on the local Exact server; Globe is not designed to deliver this information very quickly and in large quantities.
However, the link required for the shop can be realized "semi real-time" with a combination of Orbis Taskcentre and the Shoxl ERP Cache. The required information is retrieved from the Globe database according to a fixed schedule and placed in the Shoxl ERP Cache. The ERP Cache then contains the necessary information for the shop in an optimized data structure.
Because the Shoxl ERP Cache offers all the real-time interfaces required for the shop, it is invisible to the Shoxl shop itself that these interfaces are missing in Exact Globe. The ERP cache therefore completes Globe with all the technical interfaces required for e-commerce.
Customer specific content
Landman has subdivided his customers into Exact customer groups. These customer groups are primarily intended to be able to link discount schemes to customers. However, Landman would also like to use these customer groups as the basis for customer-specific communication, for example to make a special offer to a certain group or to draw their attention to relevant developments.
With Shoxl authorization groups it is possible to determine very finely who has access to which information. This concerns both product information and content.
In the Landman shop the Exact customer groups are linked to Shoxl authorization groups. These Shoxl authorization groups are in turn linked to specific content. By simply placing customers in customer groups in Exact, Landman determines which content and products they will see in the shop.
Increase in turnover as a result
Landman Hoevelaken noticed a significant increase in sales very soon after the shop's release. So this was not just about orders that had previously been received via another channel anyway. The new portal apparently encourages customers to order more often, and more.
Our turnover increased almost immediately after opening our shop. And Shoxl's PIM system is a very handy addition to the Exact Globe facilities.
